Dr. Takahashi earned her M.D. and Ph.D. from Mayo Clinic. She is double board certified in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. Takahashi trained at UCLA and completed Dermatology residency and a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, cutaneous oncology, and laser surgery to complete a total of 14 years medical training after college. In addition to her M.D. and Ph.D., Dr. Takahashi completed a Post-Doctorate Research fellowship in regenerative medicine focusing on the origin of basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. With over 15 years of skin cancer focus, Dr. Takahashi's areas of interest include Mohs micrographic surgery and skin cancer prevention.
She serves on the Board of Directors for Lane County Medical Society and is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, Willamette Dermatology Society, American Academy of Dermatology, and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Takahashi loves going to work each day and especially looks forward to the connections that she makes with her patients. She feels honored to partake in each patient's health and well-being. Outside of work, Dr. Takahashi likes to spend time in nature with her family, reading and playing the piano.
Dr. Balin attended the Mayo clinic college of medicine as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program and received both an M.D. and a Ph.D. degree. Dr. Balin completed a dermatology residency and fellowship in dermatopathology at UCLA and is double board certified. In addition to his M.D. and Ph.D., Dr. Balin completed a Post-Doctorate Research fellowship in Immunology focusing on how the skin and immune system interact. Dr. Balin's areas of interest include skin cancer screening, prevention, medical dermatology and dermatopathology.
Dr. Balin belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology, Willamette Dermatology Society, Lane County Medical Society and American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Balin looks forward to connecting with patients and playing a role in shaping the health of their skin. Outside of work, Dr. Balin enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with his family.
Troy is a board certified Mohs surgeon. As such he specializes in Mohs surgery and cutaneous oncology.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University, and then attended and graduated as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society from St. Louis University School of Medicine. After completing his dermatology residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, he fulfilled his 4 years of commitment to the US Army working as a dermatologist in Germany.
He then came to the Eugene/Springfield area, and has been practicing dermatology here for over 26 years. He has done over 14,000 Mohs cases since his arrival and has the experience and expertise to utilize this superior technique for skin cancer removal to its fullest.
He maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Mohs surgery, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Willamette Dermatology Society, and the Oregon Medical Society.
Dr. Richey enjoys traveling, cycling, reading, golfing and is active in his church and his community. He and his wife, Kathryn, have five daughters, and seven awesome grandchildren.
Christy has lived in the Willamette Valley since age 6. Her first career was that of a registered nurse for 10 years. Christy then returned to Lane Community College and University of Oregon in preparation of PA school. In 2001, she graduated from Oregon Health & Science University medical school, with a Bachelor’s in Physician Assistant Studies. After one year in family practice, Christy specialized in dermatology. With over 22 years in dermatology, she has achieved diplomat status with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and is certified by the national board.
Christy is passionate about taking excellent care of people despite their situation. She enjoys precepting student PAs and teaching dermatology to others.
In her free time, Christy spends time outdoors, hiking, fused glass, and painting. Bella, a Boston Terrier, brings her great joy. Christy also enjoys spending time with her two grown daughters.
